A graduate of the Family Nurse Practitioner concentration utilizes a comprehensive approach to meet diversified and holistic health needs.

As leaders in nursing education, 研究, and community engagement, our faculty has a collective vision to nurture innovation as we chart our path for the future. Our primary goal is to support you in becoming an integral part of our learning community to address society’s need for caring, knowledgeable, and scientifically well-prepared, nurse professionals.

By building upon and expanding your knowledge and skills as a professional registered nurse, the family nurse practitioner concentration will prepare you to meet the ANCC and AANP certification competencies:

  • Health Promotion, Health Protection, Disease Prevention, and Treatment
  • Practitioner-Patient Relationship
  • Teaching-Coaching Function
  • Professional Role
  • Managing and Negotiating Health Care Delivery Systems
  • Monitoring and Ensuring the Quality of Health Care Practice
  • Cultural Competence

In applying these skills, we will encourage you to be innovative and evidence-based in your approach to nursing to support the delivery of high quality, safe patient care.

Distance Education 学生 Residing outside of Indiana:  
Each of the states has its own approval processes for out-of-state institutions offering distance education.  While Indiana State University endeavors to offer all of its programs to as wide an audience as possible, all Indiana State University distance education programs may not be available in all states. The MSN Program at Indiana State University is not available to residents of Alabama, 阿拉斯加, 亚利桑那州, 阿肯色州, 加州, District of Columbia, 爱达荷州, 路易斯安那州, Massachusetts, 纽约, North Dakota, 俄克拉何马州, 俄勒冈州, South Dakota, 田纳西州, West Virginia, 或怀俄明, US Territories, or International students.

Circumstances such as moving to an unapproved state or deployment of U.S. military or their family members outside the continental United States must be communicated to the School of 护理 and will impact progression and/or completion of the degree.

All students must carry their own malpractice insurance and provide Certificate of Insurance prior to beginning clinical courses.

Applications are accepted twice a year:

  • October 1 for Spring (January start)

Accreditation

The Master of Science in 护理 program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in 护理, 公司. (ACEN) (See http://lioxwd.ysjlp.com/health/department/son/accreditation for more information.)
